Shared Future
Shared Future
Biennial Multi-Cultural Collaboration Program for Students of Mixed Cities in Tel Aviv–Jaffa and Haifa
The educational program “Shared Future” is designed for junior-high and high-school students, aiming to foster connection and understanding among Jewish and Arab students in mixed cities. The program seeks to replace fear, anger, hatred, prejudice, and stereotypes with camaraderie, respect, and collaboration.
This initiative is rooted in a comprehensive, multi-cultural educational process that lays a long-term foundation for mutual achievements within the local community. It provides a unique platform, enabling Jewish and Arab students from mixed cities to collaborate and volunteer together to address local community needs as part of their mandatory social involvement duty hours.
Implemented through close cooperation between the Ministry of Education, participating schools, and "A New Way", the program includes 60 hours of community volunteering. During this time, participants develop joint initiatives and lead multi-cultural projects within their local communities.
The program features diverse and engaging activities, such as ODT, acro-yoga, listening circles, and more. These encounters encourage creative thinking and problem-solving, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to achieve success.
To measure its impact, "Shared Future" will be accompanied by an external evaluation study to assess its effectiveness in promoting reconciliation, reducing prejudice, and building sustainable multi-cultural partnerships, generating collaborative achievements that benefit local communities.
“Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
